• From Phuket airport to Khaolak
    Similan Islands is closer to Khaolak, just one hour north of Phuket airport. There are very few cars to Khaolak and need to book in advance at a cost of about 1700 baht. Khao Lak has a number of companies who can offer Similan 1 – 3 day tour. If you want to go straight to Similan, you should live in Khao Lak.. In that case, you don’t have to catch the bus early in the morning, and you have a lot of choices.

  • From Patong, Karon, Kata beach to Similan
    The popular beach, Patong, Karon, and Kata, in Phuket, is about one hour south of the Phuket airport. Several of the beaches in Phuket are able to find the agent directly for Similan tour (1-3 day packages). The downside is that you need to get up early, at around six o ‘clock and you need to take a 2-hour bus to the port of Khaolak, and then take a ferry to the Similan Islands. So, it is better to tell the hotel one day in advance that you cannot take the hotel’s breakfast.
